Our Vision
Range XT trains actors preparing for TV and film roles. A weapon is a prop to the production, but on screen it has to be handled by someone who looks like they've carried one for years. That's the gap we close — before you get to set.
We're not teaching you to be a shooter. We're teaching you to look professional on camera: where the hand goes, how the draw breaks, what your body does under recoil, and all the small tells that make an audience believe the character — or stop believing them.
Our instructors are combat experienced and hold certifications as Range Safety Officers and Instructors, with over 20 years of hands-on experience. That means the notes you get are specific to what you're doing wrong, in the moment, rather than generic range instruction — and that every session runs to professional safety standards.
What Makes Us Different
Plenty of ranges will rent you an hour and a lane. We build the session around the scene you're about to shoot — the draw your character uses, the reload the script calls for, the stoppage the director wants to see cleared. Tell us what the role needs and that's what we drill.

What a Session Covers
We start with safety and the fundamentals of grip, stance and trigger control — the base everything else sits on. From there we work the skills that show up on screen:
- Holster draw — position 3
- Holster draw — 6 o'clock, "small of the back"
- Changing mags
- Rapid fire
- Moving targets
- Clearing stoppages
Throughout, you get real-time insight from combat experienced instructors — corrections as you shoot rather than notes at the end, plus context on how someone who does this for a living would actually move.
No prior experience is needed. If you've never held a pistol, that's a normal place to start and we'll build from there.
Who We Train
Our clients are actors with upcoming gigs — television, film, streaming and stage — who need to handle a pistol convincingly and safely. You don't need prior experience, just the willingness to learn and a respect for firearms safety.
We work with:

Safety and Confidentiality
Safety isn't a priority at Range XT — it's the foundation. We are fully insured and every session is run by Certified Range Safety Officers and Instructors under strict protocols. All safety gear, weapons and ammunition are included, so nothing depends on you sourcing the right equipment.
We also treat your privacy as part of the job. We maintain 100% confidentiality before, during and after training. We don't name our clients, we don't post session footage, and we don't discuss the projects we're told about. If a role hasn't been announced yet, nothing about it leaves the range.
Book Before Your Next Gig
Sessions run $300 for one hour or $450 for two hours, which is what we recommend before a shoot. Groups of 2 are possible — just ask. All gear, weapons and ammunition are included.
